The essence of the Coaching relationship is the Alliance which is designed between Coach and Client. During the design process, both Coach and Client define their needs and expectations.

On the Client’s part, those needs and expectations include the duration and frequency of the coaching and the period of time to be covered by the agreement. Other issues include whether the sessions will take place in person or over the phone; whether the focus is Group, Personal or Crisis Coaching (see “Types of Coaching Services” elsewhere on this website), and the type of support and assistance the Client expects from the Coach. The options for conducting the Discovery session are also an element of the Alliance. The cost of the Coaching services is dependent upon all these factors.

A typical Personal Coaching agreement is for a minimum of three months and includes one 30 minute telephone session per week. The typical fee for this agreement is $300.00 per month, paid in advance. After the three month minimum, coaching can continue on a month-to-month basis with both parties’ agreement. A typical Discovery Session takes place after about one month of Coaching and lasts from 2 to 4 hours, in person or over the phone. The fee for the Discovery Session is $300.00

Crisis Coaching is a more intense (both time and energy) process than the more standard personal coaching. During a transition or crisis period, the Client is in a greater state of need and of turmoil. A “typical” Crisis Coaching partnership will last between three and eight weeks and involve one to three calls per week lasting 45 to 90 minutes each. Scheduling is usually done on a week-by-week basis and requires more flexibility on the part of the Coach in order to meet the Client’s needs. Consequently, Crisis Coaching fees are based on an hourly rate of $200.00.

Scholarships are available and fees are always dependent upon the type and depth of Coaching sought by the Client and other factors.
